Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy

The girl left sleeping
and her mother buried both of them               under blue ridge soil
 
and the girl became a great wrong bottle,
and a warning, and a wild night.
 
Sometimes the girl fizzed                               on her mother’s cathode TV
while she dreamed the long days
 
and the girl was a scratched journal,
a blanket fort, an open eye.
